How to Join the Alliance
NZBA is the flagship climate initiative under UNEP FI’s Principles for Responsible Banking. It accelerates the setting and implementation of science-based targets for greenhouse gas emissions reductions and the development of common practice in climate-related target setting for banks. NZBA is open to all banks globally.
To join the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, we recommend that your bank also becomes a Signatory to the Principles for Responsible Banking and with that, a UNEP FI member. Your bank can do this in three easy steps:
1) Sign the Principles for Responsible Banking and the Net-Zero Banking Alliance’s Joint Commitment Statement.
2) Complete the UNEP FI membership form.
3) Once you have submitted these two documents to the UNEP FI Secretariat and your application to become a Principles for Responsible Banking Signatory and NZBA member has been approved, you will need to make a public announcement with a press release including a quote from your CEO. (You will receive more details and tools to assist you with this announcement).
It is possible to join the NZBA without becoming a Signatory to the Principles for Responsible Banking and UNEP FI member. If your bank wishes to pursue this option, please contact us.
