UNEP FI is proud to support the Annual Banking Conference 2021 organised by the Chartered Banker Institute, which will be held virtually between 21 and 23 September 2021.
The overarching theme for this year’s conference will be “responsible banking and the implementation of international standards”. It will consider among other things, how well banks are embedding the UN Principles of Responsible Banking in their organisations, how responsible banking links to the Chartered Banker Institute’s Professional Code of Conduct, and what responsible banking means for the education, training and development of bankers.
Agenda:
The Panel will discuss:
“An introduction to responsible banking and what responsible banking means to different organisations.”
“What are the components of “responsible banking”, and how do these fit together?”
The Panel will discuss:
“What initiatives are banks, in different regions, implementing to align with themselves UN PRB’s both externally (with customers) and internally (in terms of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) training of their staff, for instance) to raise their colleagues’ capability?”
“What initiatives are working, the lessons learnt and the challenges faced, and how have those challenges been overcome by banks?”
“What more could be done to raise awareness of the UN Principles and their implications beyond specialist teams in banks?”
The Panel will discuss:
“What are the implications of “responsible banking” in general, and the Principles in particular, for the education, training and development of bankers?”
“How do you get individuals to understand the UN Principles for Responsible Banking so they can be embedded in their organisations?”
“How is it part of their future learning curriculum?”
