The Energy Union Framework Strategy puts energy efficiency as one of its five dimensions and states it is to be treated as an energy source in its own right. The ambitious Paris climate agreement also underlines the importance of energy efficiency. To realise the full potential of energy efficiency, public funds will not suffice and private financing will have to be unlocked at scale.
This webinar, organised by the European Commission in partnership with UN Environment Finance Initiative, will discuss the role of standardisation and benchmarking in order to facilitate access to finance for energy efficiency investments. It will feature a presentation by Steven Fawkes (EnergyPro) on the Investor Confidence Project, and a presentation by Peter Sweatman (Climate Strategy, rapporteur to the Energy Efficiency Financial Institutions Group) on the latest developments of EEFIG’s work including the De-risking Energy Efficiency Platform and the guide on the appraisal of energy efficiency investments which will be launched on 22 June at the EU Sustainable Energy Week.
The webinar (11:00-12:30 CET) will be of particular interest to banks, investors, building owners and asset managers.
