The World Water Week

UNEP FI and the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities (UNEP GPA) convened a seminar for the presentation of an issues paper “Financing Water: Risks and Opportunities”, a platform for developing a set of risk management guidelines for financial institutions in water. The seminar took place at the World Water Week, the world’s leading global annual event for capacity-building, partnership-building and the implementation of programmes in water. During the event, a number of financial institutions discussed the findings of the issues paper on water-related risk and opportunities for financial institutions as part of the process in building a set of risk management guidelines for financial institutions in water. Consensus was reached on the next steps for developing a set risk management guidelines. Speakers include:
