The Fintech for Sustainable Development workshop aims to raise awareness among financial institutions on the strategic role that fintech could play in addressing the financing challenges of the sustainable development agenda including the role of fintech in:
- improving financial inclusion of underserved groups (low-income citizens and SMEs),
- building resilient infrastructure (e.g. energy),
- fostering innovation (small holder agriculture, sustainable and land use),
- promoting sustainable industrialization in the MENA region.
The workshop will showcase what banking peers are implementing with regards to fintech topics from different countries; giving a perspective on what is available in the market, how to be more resilient and better prepared for innovative solutions, as well as providing participants with best practices on fintech in their market.
Target audience: mid-level sustainability managers and on-the-ground practitioners, digital banking and innovation teams, corporate, investment and retail banking.
The workshop will require a total of 4 hours of participants’ time over two consecutive days. It will be delivered in English with simultaneous translation into French. A certificate of completion will be awarded to participants attending the two sessions.
